Shun Partial Dispute Resolution, Mbah Charges Boundary Committee

Enugu State governor, Dr Peter Mbah has charged the state boundary committee to uphold high levels of prudence, fairness and justice while resolving boundary disputes in the state.

Governor Mbah gave the charge on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Enugu State Boundaries Committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, and Dr Solomon Ejim- secretary.

Our government house correspondent Fred Nnaji reports that the governor said the committee is responsible for resolving intra state and community disputes, as well maintaining peace and tranquillity among the various communities.

Dr Mbah who called on the committee to ensure that their activities are anchored on impartiality, said boundaries are just a geographical expression, hence should not create enmity among the people.

The committee chairman, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai while responding on behalf of other members of the committee, promised to deliver on their mandate judiciously in line with the state boundary acts. Barr Ossai described the task as huge but assured that the committee will not disappoint Ndi Enugu.

Other members of the committee include the Attorney General and commissioner for justice, Dr Kingsley Udeh, the commissioner for information, Mr Aka Eze Aka, the commissioner for Local Government, rural development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, as well as their counterpart in the finance ministry, Mr Nathaniel Uramah.

Others are the Enugu state police commissioner, CP Anayo Uzuegbu, the state acting Surveyor General, Surv Justice Chime, Comptroller of Immigration Enugu, among others.
